The conference is almost upon us

8 July 2008 by Sharon Howard

(And guess what? I haven’t finished writing my paper…)

Here’s the final version (barring last-minute emergencies) of the conference programme (pdf).

And some useful information from Sue Watkins:

When you arrive at the OU, please park in the area marked East Parking and report to the Berrill Reception [update: this has changed; instead, registration is in the Old Lecture Theatre, which is on the ground floor in the same building as the Central Meeting Rooms (ie the Christodoulou rooms)] where you will be issued with name badges. You can then make your way to the Christodoulou Meeting Rooms. Further details on how to get here are below.

Headquarters

The Open University has its headquarters at Walton Hall, in Milton Keynes which is midway between London and Birmingham, and Oxford and Cambridge. The OU is sited on the South East side of Milton Keynes. It is close to Junctions 13 and 14 of the M1

Maps of the Campus, local area and region are attached.

By Train

The University is about four miles from Milton Keynes Central station, on the London (Euston) to Birmingham line. MK Central is an Intercity stop. Trains are frequent and the journey time from Euston varies between 35-60 minutes.

By bus

The University is served by a number of public bus services including services to and from Milton Keynes Central Rail Station. For full details, see the Milton Keynes Council bus timetable information page.

In addition to public bus services to and from the station, the University operates its own peak hour station shuttle bus. This is a direct service and is operated by Souls (pick up at bus stop No. 34 at the station).
